I don’t mind the liquids, as it’s winter in Australia I’m having broth a lot, it’s easy to sip and doesn’t upset my tummy

Is there any specifid way you make the broth?

Not really, I make it the way I always have. A mixture of cooked & raw chicken bones, fresh oregano & parsley, onion, garlic, pepper and a potato. I sauté the onions, garlic and pepper in virgin olive oil and add that to the bones, herbs & Water and boil. I let simmer for about an hour, then cool and drain. The main difference now is I add a Protein Powder. It’s a gelatine base Protein so it dissolves in hot water with zero taste. I heat it up and sip it for lunch and dinner.

Are they letting you do full liquid or still just Clear Liquids?

I am on day 8 too but i can do full liquid so i can do Protein Shakes. I have found savior in putting Greek yogurt in a blender with a popsicle and making it super thin.

It hasn’t upset me yet so I’m calling it a win.

I’m on full liquids as well, I think having a variety of options help with the liquid phase.

How long are you required to be liquids only? I had the sleeve and my office requires 3 full weeks of liquids only. I’ve read others only do 1 week then move on to soft/puréed week 2. Curious what everyone is doing

My team recommends 2 weeks full liquids post op. Then 4 weeks of purée, then 3 weeks soft foods. After that I can add some ‘harder’ foods in small amounts. At post 3 months I should be able to eat most ‘forever’ foods like meat, veggies and fruit.

I am supposed to be two weeks on liquids and two weeks on pureed foods after. Then I can start incorporating regular food.
Liquid stage sucks. Lol my nutricionist has me on zero sugar so i guess that makes it harder. I cheat with some gatorade sips here and there but thays about it. Its hard to follow the schedule as i get full so fast

I got some gourmet Soups from a local grocery store that makes them homemade. I put them in the blender with some unflavored Protein powder and a bit of chicken stock if they need to be thinned out. I have that for lunch and dinner or thinned greek yogurt. For my liquids I rotate solid liquids (protein shakes) and clear liquids a cup for a cup kind of thing.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
