1Marie 1 Posted June 3, 2018 I am almost 2 weeks post OP. I have been following the liquid diet but I haven had many carbs. I have been running a fever of 99 to 102 and have to take tylenol every 4 hrs. I am exhausted and feel awful. My surgeon told me to increase my fluids and that would help with the fever. I ended up in the ER a few days ago and was told nothing was wrong with the surgery but i do have a urinary tract infection. Should i be adding more carbs for energy 1 Pearldrop reacted to this
Hop_Scotch 1,632 Posted June 3, 2018 Ouch UTI's can be very unpleasant, hope you are feeling better soon, once gone you may feel fine for energy. When do you advance to the next stage? And what foods does it include?
Pearldrop 164 Posted June 3, 2018 Ouch UTI are not fun. I hope they gave you antibiotics that you can take. I assume you are taking your supplements? On a different thread here, someone had a B12 shot and it helped with the lack of energy. Two weeks post op, is not long for your body to recover. Before you add carbs, Check with your team and stick with your plan.
allwet 868 Posted June 3, 2018 your tired because you just had major surgery and you are fighting an infection please dont turn back to your old habits and use food (carbs) as the medication for everything. This is the mindset that got us all here in the first place and the post op liquid diet is your chance to break free from this and begin again new.
