RapidFirePickle 119 Posted June 3, 2018 So, after my surgery (when I had already lost more than 50 pounds) and my husband had been complaining about how his weight was "stuck" (having trouble sticking to a healthy diet), we happened to stop in and visit some neighbors. They asked my husband if he had lost weight because he looked slimmer, but not a single word for the lady who actually DID lose weight, and a significant amount! Sheesh! I must be wearing a cloaking device! 1 Pearldrop reacted to this
Charity G 46 Posted June 3, 2018 That sucks! I'm sorry that they didn't recognize or mention your visible weight loss. This has been one of my fears...that I would be working really hard and going through a difficult surgical process, only for people to not see the results. summerset 5,265 Posted June 3, 2018 Why do you care about the opinion of other people on your weight loss or visible weight loss at all? You're not doing it for "the other people". Btw, I wouldn't comment on another person's weight change myself. After all you never know why someone lost or gained weight. Imagine someone going through major illness and people have nothing more to do than to comment on this "great weight loss". Ouch. 2 jess9395 and jami.1992 reacted to this
Bryn910 519 Posted June 3, 2018 Maybe they didn’t want to say anything because most women don’t like comments about their weight. Whether they lose or gain. I would take it with a grain of salt.
Frustr8 7,886 Posted June 3, 2018 And these days the public worries if you might have developed anorexia or cancer.😛
Frustr8 7,886 Posted June 13, 2018 And I am reminded of one of my Nursing Home ladies. She wasn't feeling too well so called her son's home, daughter-in-law came and set with her all day, mopped her fevered brow, cut her food up in small bits, all the good DIL type things. When joe stopped by after work to check on Pearl, Pearl let out a shreech, Oh Thank God you're here, I've been alone ALL DAY! I don't know if I would have keep my temper in check as well as SO,ibut then maybe she was used to such shenanigans from Pearl.👩👵👨
Addicted 34 Posted September 4, 2020 Pearl reminds me of my ex-mother in law. Manipulative witch. She was my best friend when her son wasn't around but when he was, poor neglected and abused mommy dearest. Set me up over and over again. May she rest In peace. If you acknowledged ones weightloss then you are also acknowledging their fatness
