Travel on soft foods. . . .?

Recommended Posts

I need to fly for work, all day 2 long flights unfortunately.

Any ideas on good travel foods? My layovers aren't long enough to even try to get something healthy in an airport.

I grabbed some Protein packets to make shakes on the go. But at this stage I do need a little food to not be hungry, especially for an entire day. . . .

I am 3.5 weeks and have tolerated most foods I have tried. Any bright ideas?

I've never flown, so I don't know what does/doesn't count as a liquid for airplane purposes (or, of course, what fits with your individual nutrition plan), but some ideas:

tuna packets. Some of the shops in airports do sell the hard boiled eggs or cheese sticks

Protein Bars, fruit leathers, dehydrated fruits, snack cheese, you can bring a TON of stuff without just as long as it isn't "liquid" There are so many "on the go" style options out there that it's almost too much to sit and try to list them all!

Ooo! cheese sticks and nut butter packets are a great idea!

Someone else suggested putting protien powder in baggies. Obviously never met the TSA. Still have flashbacks from all the pat downs I got while pregnant, not to mention flying with breast milk 😞

I feel like TSA is extremely backwards and odd. I have taken half eaten chipotle through security and have been fine and get my sister went through with baby formula (powder) and she got the questions lol

I fly with Protein Powder in ziplock baggies every week. It has never caused a problem of any sort.

Good to know. I will definately pack some.

But if I get another pat down. . . . . I will blame you 😐

It is a stupid joke, but completely serious. Not one has ever touched me in those places with out buying me a drink (or being my doctor)

I have to tell you, you had a very unusual experience. I travel for work, and when body scanners were introduced, and before Pre Check was a thing, I "opted out", which means I chose to be patted down, vs. go through the scanner. I found them 99% of the time to be professional and not terribly invasive, out of the hundreds of times I was patted down. If you go through the body scanner, then they only pat down an area that shows an anomaly, usually where clothing bunches together IME, so you might just have an ankle patted down for instance.

Secondly, you going through the scanner, and your bag going through the x-ray machine are two separate processes. Your bag might get searched if they see something suspicious, OR you might get an area patted down if it shows something might be there on the body scanner. But, they don't search you because of something in your bag. In a busy airport, they really have no clue who's bag belong to who.

Hope that helps ease your mind!

Please eat lighter than usual on your flight.
Some have issues feeling “tighter” in the air/ pressure. Trust me ... you DO NOT want issues on a flight.
String cheese, gogurt ( in a tube) perhaps a Protein Drink before... a small container of chicken salad you can bring.
Those items and a lot of Water helped me 2 weeks ago with 2 very long flights taking almost 24 hours with layover and time change etc.
Good luck. Wishing you no issues on your flight✈️

Sillykitty: most of the pat-downs I got were flying while pregnant. Most airports have pregnant women skip the scanner, which forces a pat down Every. Single. Time.

Then comes flying with breast milk. It has gotten easier, but some airports make you go through a lot for that too.

Overall, I have found going through security to be unnecessarily invasive.

Thankfully most of my travel is for pleasure, not work. This trip is just sort of inconvenient 3 weeks after surgery.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
