My doctor said to not eat/drink at least one hour before bedtime in order to lessen any possibility of having reflux. My reflux used to be horrible but it's very minimal now. My issue is I get really parched at night and like to have Water next to me to drink before bed or if I wake up in the middle of the night thirsty. I don't want to feel so thirsty all night, but I also don't want reflux poking me while I sleep. Will this go away over time? Will I be able to have some sips of water throughout the night without having to sit up and wait an hour to go back to sleep? I do try and get as much water in as possible before I start getting ready for bed, but since childhood I always had water next to my bed in case I got thirsty. I am 4 weeks post-op.

Thanks guys. ♡

I was always encouraged to have Water right next to me at any time of the day, especially when I was just starting out.

I would take the other person's advice and ask your doctor if they meant water also.

Yeah, he specifically said no Water or food. Mainly because at night I was having reflux if I ate or drank too soon before bed. But it seems odd to me. So idk if it's just til I am done with the stages or what.

I say try it one night. See if your acid reflux acts up.

A sip of Water, just enough to wet your mouth should be just fine. I always have water by me, mostly because my CPAP dries out my mouth I wake up a few times a night to have a sip of water.

I **HAVE** to have Water near me when I sleep, I've got a CPAP as well. A sip shouldn't be an issue. But I would discuss with your surgical team.

I usually have quite a bit of Water before sleep, and usually wake up and take at least one big drink during the night. hasnt been an issue.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
