I bought the Unjury unflavored Protein Powder today and mixed it with crystal light like I've heard others say they do. I was so disgusted by the taste and smell I dumped it out. It was like adding a glass of milk to my crystal light. Am I crazy??? I'm struggling so bad with these Protein Shakes I'm starting to gag when I drink them. I was really hoping this stuff would be the answer. Help!

I bought the Isopure unflavored and found the same thing. I'm going to try blending it into fruit and yogurt smoothy. Maybe into some mashed potatoes too. For being unflavored it reminds me more of baby formula.

Mashed potatoes would amazing but I'm told they are a no no. No grains, no rice, no potatoes, and if course no sugar. Really no white foods except cauliflower lol

White potato is on my list of choices as long as its a serving of starch and not getting in the way of Protein needs. Also, as long as its not filled with fats like butter :). Cauliflower is lovely.

One of my favorite things to puree is black, pinto, kidney Beans with their juices. Add chicken Bone Broth ( I make my own) Puree some chicken, red bell pepper and onion and add to your bean puree and reduce on low heat until you like the consistency. A little salt and garlic powder helps to enhance the flavor along with a little cheese. I only eat about 3/4 a cup of the finished product, but I get some good Protein, veggies, wonderful starch and a little fat. Also, my husband will eat it with chips so I don't have to have it everyday for 2 weeks lol.

I'm a fan of Unjury, but I don't think I'd try to put it in Crystal Light. I tried the Jello recipe on the Unjury site and it's tolerable, but I don't think I'd stand in line for it. Unflavored Unjury is best when mixed with milk-based products. I put a tablespoon or so in my greek yogurt to get an extra Protein kick.

If you're looking for something clear, Premier Protein makes clear protein supplement drinks. I haven't tried them, but others on this site speak highly of them. I bought the Isopure from GNC but they leave a weird dry-feeling in my mouth that I just can't tolerate.

For me, if I'm tired of milk based protein supplements, I keep Unjury chicken flavored on hand. I like it because it's a nice change from the sweetness of most Protein Shakes and it is warm/soothing. Warning: it is high in sodium.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
