Smartbuckeye 0 Posted May 28, 2018 Good evening I'm scheduled for the sleeve June 13th. Every other day I change my mind. I was talking to my sister about it and she wasn't happy. She yelled at me in a loving sister way and asked how was I going to feel calling 911 because I fell and need the fire department to pick me up. She reminded me of the super morbid obese relatives that had to sit in 2 chairs, couldn't walk without assistance and became house bound. Sometimes a little bit of reality gets things together
MMALLIA 1 Posted May 28, 2018 I think it's pretty normal to have doubts before making such a big decision, but you'll be feeling better than ever in no time and those doubts will be distant memories. Good luck with your surgery! 1 Smartbuckeye reacted to this
okayestmom 232 Posted May 28, 2018 My two adult children are only 14 months apart. I accidentally overheard a conversation they were having when they were in the 11th and 12th grade. My daughter didn't like my son's "easy" girlfriend and told him that if he got an STD from her that she was not giving him a kidney if he needed it. I'm still not sure how STD=need for kidney, but I do know that siblings will tell it like it is! You know what you need to do for your health, she just reminded you in that not so nice sibling way that she wants you to live too... 1 Smartbuckeye reacted to this
domi 237 Posted May 28, 2018 It is scary. This took me 5 years to make this decision. Is it easy, No. This is the best decision I have ever made. I only wish I did it years earlier. I am almost 2 month out now. For the first time in years, I can pick stuff up from the ground, I can walk to a meeting without being out of breath. I am no longer diabetic and stopped taking 4 medications and shots. This is a big change, but I am feeling so much better and healthier now that I am starting to dream again. This is your decision, but know we will all be here to support you no matter what you decide. 1 okayestmom reacted to this
