bdroubay 13 Posted May 27, 2018 Can’t seem to get even 4 oz of Water in. 4 days post op and constantly feel full. Any suggestions? Is the full feeling maybe something else like surgery discomfort? I have stopped all pain meds. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
Creekimp13 5,840 Posted May 27, 2018 If you don't drink you will end up in the ER with dehydration. It can be very dangerous. If you truly can't drink, call your doctor's answering service for instructions. Suggestion: pour four little one ounce medicine cups full of Water or other clear Fluid. Try to drink one over the course of 15 minutes. Ten tiny little sips. Do this every fifteen minutes that you are awake. it will get easier. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
toodlerue 452 Posted May 27, 2018 I had to add a Gateraid type drink around days 4-6 because I was feeling the same way. I also have iHydrate app on my phone sent to remind me every 15 min to drink. I just take 2-4 swallows each time to help me get the Water in. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
domi 237 Posted May 28, 2018 Try to change up the temperature. I could sip hot Water or very cold water and ice chips. I also used sugar free popsicles and sugarfree Bigsticks. They also count as fluids. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
jess9395 5,449 Posted May 28, 2018 You’ve gotten great tips for the Water, but just wanted to say yes the full feeling is also swelling from the surgery. Your stomach has been cut open. Like any injury it will swell up! 2 Frustr8 and ProudGrammy reacted to this
