Hey all,

I'm having trouble getting my daily Water intake (64ounces). Any advice? Or any extra tips? Good flavor packets that we can drink?

I find that reminders, alarms, visually pleasing bottles, fancy detox style waters , zero cal Hot Drinks (basically making it fun) makes it easier

I like the true lemon line of Water enhancers but it is not sugar free , i think i use the sugar stevia blend but i cant do too much artificial sweeteners and i get enough in my Protein Shakes.

visually pleasing bottles,

ooh, that's a great idea! I'm picturing fancy colorful shot glasses to give you that bit of "going wild" feeling! Make a drinking game out of it. Every time someone says or does something you have to drink an ounce of Water.

Yes. True I forgot about that. Are you doing any special teas?

Someone had told me about Hunt Water but I haven’t tried it yet

I like Vitamin Water zero. The orange flavor and xxx flavor are not bitter to me at all. After surgery I found a lot of the drink packets with artificial sweeteners had a bitter aftertaste that I didn’t notice before my surgery.

Nestle makes a bottle wattle with a light flavor that is nice too. Pure life I think it is. I also drink tea and regular water.

I do still have issues meeting my fluid goals, I have to work at it everyday to drink as much as I can. Just keep at it!

I second Vitamin Water Zero--tastes very good to me and sweetened with stevia rather than aspartame or sucralose. I don't like tea, but I do drink broth almost every day, and it's nice to have something hot.

I have orthostatic hypotension, so I am trying to get at least 90 ounces of Fluid per day instead of 64 so appreciate everyone's suggestions as well.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
