Pain after Vitamins

Recommended Posts

7 months out and I have been taking my Vitamins in pill form vs chewable for about 4 weeks now. Three days ago I was in agony. I thought it was something I ate or drank.

Last night I took my vitamins and it started again. Seems ill have to go back to chewable. Has this happened to anyone else?

The pain was horrible!

I take the Bariatric Advantage capsule ones (opened and sprinkled on yogurt for the first 2 weeks---yuk) and such pain...it is the closest I have came to throwing up in this whole process. I now take one at a time, wait 30 minutes and drink at least 8 ounces of Water and then take the second one. Much better.

P.S. Looks like we are ticker twins:D

I'm back to using my Tespo machine for now. I'll stick with the liquid vs the pills. The pain is not something I want to feel again.

No issues here with swallowing a Vitamin pill except if my stomach is completely empty. I have a supplement/med cocktail I take in the morning of about 11 pills so I need to eat first and then I am good to go.

Using PatchMD Patches myself, no need to chew or swallow anything. Just slap them on and go. I'm doing a test with my team, I'm not taking ANY oral Vitamins outside of the B vitamins. So in a few weeks when I get my blood drawn, I'll know if these patches work or not.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
