I'm done...I made it

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

Well, I made it thru banding yesterday. It hurts, of course I expected it to. It's not excruciating, but it still hurts. I'm just sipping fluids and resting...just thought I would check in and let everyone know I made it

Carol, I came home at around 5, same day. It took them forever to release me becuase their computers went down, and she couldn't do anything! So I walked the halls, and everytime I passed the nurses station I asked if I could leave yet...

I am so glad to hear everything went well Patty. I was feeling really good yesterday but today has been a little worse for me. I'm having pretty sharp pains in my left side. Keep drinking those liquids and walking much as possible. We will be feeling better in no time!

Yes congratulations! Keep on smiling, I will be getting banded in January '08! They say it's not an emergency, I wish I was already banded, but I know I have to be patient.

Best wishes to an easy and quick recovery!

Take good care,

Stevie

Can someone help me get the slider onto my messages? I made it but it won't show up. Thanks.

Copy the code in the top box at the counter site. Then go to UserCP at the top of the any LBT page and click on Edit Signature. Paste the code into the signature box. Below the box, you can click on Preview Signature to make sure it's working.

I have tried twice to "practice" doing the liquid diet because I have to do it for 10 days before surgery. I have not been able to stick to it. Maybe it will be different when I have no choice. I seem to be eating more right now too, I don't know if it's nerves or because I know later I won't be able to eat. Anyone go thru this?

Congrats and welcome fellow bandster. I had my band on 10/30/07 and still sore but doing better. The liquid diet is hard but I was able to eat yoplait and Soup and keep it down. I return to work on Monday and a little nervous about that. Hang in there!:clap2:

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
