I drink the vanilla, chocolate and Carmel and have never smelled anything odd..and I have a very sensitive nose.. I’d take those back..maybe you got a bad batch or something happened to them.

I've only notice an odd smell once. It was a vanilla one. It smelled awful; I couldn't drink it. That was the only one though.

Premier Protein (chocolate, vanilla, caramel) have been staples for me since pre-op. But, in the last few weeks I have to force myself to drink them. I'm trying to clear up my supply before I switch brands. It's not the smell of the Premier Protein. They are just too sweet tasting for me and there's a thick quality to them that is off-putting to me. I assume it has to do with preservatives to keep them good at room temperature.

All protein supplements that I've tried have some smell/taste. I suppose it can be nasty to some. I've gotten used to it and some brands are better than others. I used Unjury brand for years with my lap band and am going back to what I know works for me. Besides, the powders are more versatile. The RTD is sure convenient, but with limited variety.

Yep!! I can smell it too. I pour it out of the carton and the smell goes away. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

The aseptic container is what keeps them good at room temperature, just like in other countries 100% milk is packaged similarly. The thickness is done purposefully by the manufactures, because (some? most?) people want a shake like consistency.

Where did you purchase the shakes? I purchased some from costco and they made me sick. About 2 weeks later I get a post card in the mail from Costco saying the consistency wasn't to standard and to bring them back to the store for a refund.

I got mines from costco and the manufature. Both stinky! I need to use a straw when i drink it.

I would call costco and ask them for a refund or exchange. You shouldn't have to alter the way you drink to enjoy a product. I wouldn't want you to get sick like I was. Also I wouldn't use a straw, causes gas in the pouch.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
