acuttita 49 Posted May 22, 2018 So after surgery I contracted an infection which led to my surgeon needing to drain an abscess in my stomach and leaving the drain in for a week. He finally removed it on Friday and did not stitch it up as he would like it to close on its own. Has anyone experienced this before too? So at the moment I have an open incision and was curious to know how long it takes for something like this to close. I currently have a bandage on it so not to get anything in it and re-infect the area but it’s a little frustrating. Any tips?
GassyGurl 428 Posted May 22, 2018 So, I didn't have an open incision exactly like yours. But I did have one of my incisions where the glue came out and left a gaping (few mm) deep hole. I could see muscle, I swear. My Dr had me keep it dry and covered, and it healed slowly from the inside. New skin grew in and eventually it closed. toodlerue 452 Posted May 22, 2018 I have a hole from where a drain was that was taken out before I left the hospital. I was told to just keep it covered with a bandaid. All of my other
