ragdollx19 1 Posted November 2, 2007 I have been doing heavier work outs lately and my trainer told me to get rid of the Nike Shox and find something with a more even base instead of tilting me forward on my toes. He said this while we were doing squats but I just dont know what to get. Anyone have any ideas?
kagoscuba 0 Posted November 2, 2007 The reason he doesn't want you tilted forward is it puts too much emphasis on your quads, and your hamstrings will not get as full of a workout on squats. You can get any brand you want, but you will need to find a good feeling pair of cross-training shoes for weight lifting. They have a more even base, and they have a little more lateral support than the Shox. They will also be heavier, but for weightlifting that shouldn't matter. jmarruda 22 Posted November 2, 2007 Yeah, I've heard of this too. Ditto to above post, thanks kagoscuba. Also, I think if theres too much weight on the ball of your foot, your center of balance can be off while lifting weights as opposed to most of the weight being on your heel. The shox are great sneaks, especially for running, but I'd rather have something flatter like a cross trainer instead for weightlifting.
