Super slow weight loss

Recommended Posts

I’m at my 3 month mark and my weight loss has slowed way down. I’ve lost 4 pounds in the last 15 days!! Did this happen to anyone else? I’ve lost right at 50 pounds since surgery day.

Pretty normal - go for a hunt on these threads about the three week stall, and the three month stall and you’ll see they are both common! It will pass, just stick to your plan.

50lbs in 12 weeks is amazing, of course! No diet gets you that! Bit hard to tell cos your profile doesn’t give us your weight or goal - but rest assured, stalls are normal. I often find I lose SIZE in a stall!

I had the 3 week stall. And it was exactly 3 weeks lol. I’ve tried to edit my profile to allow my surgery stats but it won’t let me. My highest weight was 270. Surgery weight was 259. Current weight is 209. Im 5’9 and 39 years old. Surgery was 2/28/2018

Hi @Yadifan

I added a signature file with my stats in - see below. People to.d me they could give me much better feedback if they knew my details - and by golly they were right!

Those are great numbers, way to go!

Onederland here you come!

I can only hope to be so successful, just had surgery and it is hard to be patient. Kinda wish they could do Lipo at the same time for a little jump start! 😄

That is funny! My adult son didn't know much about WLS. He thought that I would leave the hospital skinny. I told him that sure would be nice! lol

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
