So I was sleeved on May 3rd and I’ve lost 25 lbs so far but I feel like I’m at a standstill now. I ended up with an infection and the drain was recently taken out two days ago and I’m stuck with bad thoughts. I did crumble and ate something I shouldn’t have and I totally regret it. I think what I’m saying right now is I need some encouragement to get back on track. I’ve wanted this for so long I don’t want to risk messing things up. I still can’t exercise at the moment because where the drain was it is still an open wound the surgeon wants to heal and close on its own without stitches. Also I can’t even walk outside because it’s been raining in South Florida by me for the last seven days straight with no chance of letting up until Thursday. So I think I just need some advice, anything would be helpful.

Relax! You've had major surgery with some complications. You are being pro-active and trying to get all your ducks in a row before you do anything too bad. It'll be ok. Don't dwell on the past; you can't change it anyway.

Go back to your NUT's guidelines and log everything that goes into your mouth. When you want to cheat, call a friend, walk if it's not raining, do chair exercises. (https://www.workingmother.com/11-quick-chair-exercises-that-work-as-well-as-going-to-gym) There are also some on youtube.

Hope this helps!

You have lost more than a pound a day, that is fantastic and nothing to be discouraged about!

We have all done this. Perfection is not a realistic goal!

Thank you so much for the encouraging words. I guess i sometimes need to hear from other people who are going through it with me.

Thank you, I needed your words of encouragement to keep staying positive. It’s hard for me since no one in my family knows I had the surgery just my coworkers but talking and expressing things with people who know what I’m going through helps me keep on the right path. I haven’t tracked my food yet but I am going to start doing that, it’s a good idea.

For me it helps to keep the big picture in mind.

Stalls happen and they suck. But on the other hand, even with stalls this is the easiest and fastest weight I have ever lost.

Imperfect food choices happen. Today I was at an event and ate an egg roll. But you know what I didn't eat, cheese dip, chocolate cake, I didn't have a margarita or mimosa. I'm definitely counting today as a success.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
