Hello,

I am a year and a half out. I went from 360 to 240 but this past year and a half I also ended up getting pregnant due to a boost in my fertility. It’s not like I gained a lot I think I gained like 20 pounds and lost it all plus 20 pounds after having him. I’ve been stuck at 240 for weeks and can’t seem to get under it. I haven’t changed anything in my routine and it’s very frustrating I’m worried I won’t ever get below 240

I'm not sure how long ago you had your child, but your hormones could certainly still be affecting your ability to lose, I'd guess. (*I am not a medical professional of any kind.*)

I'd suggest maybe changing your routine to see if that works--do a week or two of Protein Shakes for two meals and a lean and green meal for the third just to see if that makes a difference.

Worthy thought ... even if you're not a medico.

Is there any way you can increase your exercise by 10-20 minutes per day at least four days per week?

It might kick-start your metabolism a bit.

What about some capsicum (red or green) ... cooked or raw in your meals to help "warm" your metabolism. I think Americans call capsicums by the name "bell peppers". They are not hot like chilli but they do spark many people's digestion and energy-burn.

I didn't know that, thanks!

This is exactly the issue. Pregnancy changes things hormonally and you need to adjust. You didn't state how long ago you had your son, it's possible that you are still retaining weight due to milk production, or it's just a change in your physiology after having your son. You need to change things up, even something like adjusting when you exercise, or how you exercise can get you out of the funk. If you are not still providing for your child physically, try to do a 2 week pre-op liquid diet again, making sure to keep your Protein and Water levels right where they need to, see if that gets your body back in motion. Have you talked to your nutritionist or surgeon at all about the issue?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
