I am at 6 weeks post gastric sleeve and following exercise and diet goals faithfully but am plateauing with my weight. Has anyone else experienced this?

I am almost 7 weeks out and have had many stalls already. Continue to follow your plan and they do break and the scale will move again.

I only weigh once a week so that I don't get as discouraged.

Hang in there.

My doctor told me that everyone hits a plateau for a few weeks. "3 week stall" is what I've heard its been called. He said the body is adjusting to taking in more calories. He said after that I will start losing again. I haven't hit a plateau yet, but I'm dreading it too because I guess in my mind I just constantly need to see good results.

I am a little over 3 weeks post-op by the way.

Almost everyone has this.

It may last days or weeks or even months ... but you are right to ask and look for intervention suggestions, @kir18 .

You need to remember something even though you are not losing weight you are losing cm from your body think about this if you lost 3 ponds of fat in a week but gain 3 pounds of muscle the scale will show that you didn’t lose an oz but are you really in a stall?

In my case I am 2 month 14 days out of my surgery I’m proud to say I’ve lost 80 lbs so far every time I think I hit a stall I do 2 things 1 I stay it up a notch and 2 look at my muscular mass that way I’m sure I’m still losing where it matters before I had surgery I had 163 lbs of muscular mass first 2 weeks I lost a lot of that but once the Dr explained it to me I started to see things differently and I’m at 161 of muscular mass.

so don’t give up, if you are doing your exercises and eating what you are suppose to and drinking enough Water I’m sure you are losing where it matters but talk to your Dr see if he has a scale that measure muscular mass, fat, bone mass, and so on

I was sleeved last August and I've lost more than 60kg (130 pounds) and I have stalled SO many times. It honestly feels like I'm ALWAYS in a stall. It's just part of the journey. Don't let the scale get you down. As long as you do your part, the surgery will work.

Make a change in what your eating, use a new machine at the gym listen to another playlist lol, Stalls suck sometimes making a small adjustment results in a big loss. I find that when I go to bed empty borderline hungry I loose weight faster. Good luck stick to it

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
