Tierra T Tij 56 Posted May 18, 2018 Hi, I decided to make this thread to figure out why I am so light headed/dizzy today. I just got my gastric bypass/hernia surgery on May 15th of this month and I tried to go to Raley's today to get some Water and some Soup broth, I could barely make it through the aisles so I got one of those electric cart thingies and I couldn't really reach for much so a lady who worked there had to carry my stuff to the register and to my car. I was wondering how long does the dizziness/fainting last? Because I didn't really do much and I'm very tired. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
Jillagain 12 Posted May 18, 2018 Well your not getting a lot of nutrients at this point and possibly are dehydrated. Not sure where you live but a lot of the grocery stores will deliver Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
Bryn910 519 Posted May 18, 2018 (edited) If I were you I would either go see your doctor or urgent care. Most likely you’re dehydrated and need IV fluids. This happened to me although I wasn’t dizzy, just really fatigued. If you can, check your blood pressure and heart rate; if they’re both high, you’re dehydrated Edited May 18, 2018 by Bryn910 1 Frustr8 reacted to this

SleeveinIL 386 Posted May 18, 2018 I felt this way after my surgery and it ended up that I was severely dehydrated and needed to go to the ER for fluids. Please call your surgeons. They gave me a banana bag - vitamins/minerals in an IV Fluid bag. It looks yellow so they called it a banana bag. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
MN_Meg770 125 Posted May 19, 2018 Hope you made it to the doctor and you’re feeling better!! 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
Savagegirl 97 Posted May 19, 2018 I had that and it was internal bleeding from an ulcer at the connection site, which isn’t too uncommon. Get checked out!
Matt Z 4,139 Posted May 22, 2018 You **REALLY** shouldn't be exerting yourself this close to your surgery... I was told that I couldn't lift over 10 lbs for a while, (like 6+ weeks). Do Not Push things! You need to recover! I know it sucks, but, your body needs to recover from a very invasive surgery. Take it easy and let someone else help you out. I did the exact same thing. 2 weeks post op I went to the grocery store and had to stop in the middle of shopping and leave my cart. I just couldn't do it anymore. I hit a big brick wall. It does get easier. Your energy levels will return. Mine did around 6 weeks.
