sore but getting there

Recommended Posts

Here I stand (lie) before you, with a band of my own.

Apparently there was some drama with me in theater, oxygen levels dropped, but its all good now. I feel very tender and sore, but saying that, compared to yesterday, i am feeling pretty ok.

Not feeling any hunger, forcing myself to drink Water regularly and have the occasional teaspoon full of Soup.

In one week, on my preop diet i lost 9kg.

more soon

You were banded yesterday, right? I was wondering how some of the rest of you are doing! I'm glad you didn't have to know about the "drama" until after it was over! :)

Hope you're feeling well today! I woke up pretty sore but the painkiller is beginning to work and the heating pad helps as well. Take care!

Glad you both are doing so well! And it only gets better! At 2 weeks and one day post-op, it was like someone drew a line in the sand and suddenly, I felt terrific!!

Congrats to both of you in the new life you've chosen...

Good luck to both of you - I wish you a speedy recovery. It is true - it only gets better. I'm 11 days out and almost feeling like myself. The heating pad really did help me.

Hi, Patty! It's good to hear from you, too! I'm glad you're doing well! I'm feeling a little more sore than yesterday but still more of an ache than pain. And some aches have gone away. It's mostly my upper abdomen that is bothering me today. So I'm still taking it easy and I'm sure it will improve.

Take care and be sure to check in as you feel like it!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
