3 days post sleeve

Recommended Posts

I am in the same boat. My surgeon says that it’s not an issue at all. I consumed an entire cup of Soup broth in about 35 mins and panicked a bit. I was also able to eat an entire jello-cup in 30. So I decided to manually force pace myself just in case. I stretch it out to 1 hour or just serve myself 2-3oz.

If it's liquid, it'll basically go through you. Once you start regular food, you'll find you feel full very quickly--but you mostly won't feel full until then.

I was the same and was starting to get a wee bit concerned. Puréed food soon put a stop to that concern though 😂

I also have the issue of non-hunger. I’ve no motivation to eat so when I do it’s all blah.

Is it possible to take in too much liquids??? I’m on liquids only but can finish a entire cup of liquid not in one sitting but over an hour or so!!!

You cannot never take in too much liquid. Just pace yourself, you must take it slow, soon you will be in the puree stage and be super thankful lol, I know I sure did get tired of liquids all the time. Any phase really gets tiring, at 7 WKs post op, I was restricted to only cooked Protein and Protein Shakes, they said no more cheese for me :( I love cheese lol but I guess it for the better to push the weight loss. Hang in there, all of you, it does get better! Oh and make sure you walk, walk & walk!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
