Jolexis 203 Posted July 14, 2018 I have my month 6 appt on the 24th , and I’m desperately trying to lose the last few lbs to get approved by my surgeon. According to the office, insurance would approve me but the surgeon likes to see you lose a set amount before he approves you so he sees that you’re putting in a “conscious effort”. 😪 He’s known to not give surgery dates until you meet his goal. I know it’s tough, but following my dietician and making the changes they recommended really did help me meet their goal (322lbs) pretty quickly. If they didn’t give you any advice, then download MyFitnessPal and track, track, track. Try to eat mostly meat and non starchy veggies and do your best to avoid carbohydrate heavy things like bread, rice, Pasta, corn, and potatoes. That should get you losing! 2 Robyn Riley and Frustr8 reacted to this
Jolexis 203 Posted July 14, 2018 Yeah I’m making the changes they recommended. The scale is moving in the right direction, just slowly. I lose a little bit, hit a stall, lose a little bit, hit a stall. I had two months in the middle of this process where I gained weight (from poor choices) and I am so frustrated at myself because I had to lose the weight I gained (I did) and am now chipping away at the surgeons goal. 3 insta_adventurer, GreenTealael and Beta98 reacted to this

I hear ya! With my process, it seemed like I would do great, then go off track, I’d start to do better again and then fall off the wagon again. You will get there! Go easy on yourself, though. I kept reminding myself that I was up against a lifetime a bad food choices and awful habits... and those habits and patterns were not going to be broken overnight. 😊 2 Jolexis and BostonWLKC reacted to this
YeahOkay31 651 Posted August 2, 2018 (edited) Trying to keep this great thread going--especially since there isn't a big April 2018 presence here on BP. I just wanted to check in since I had my three month sleeve-anniversary last week. I am down 60 pounds from surgery and 134 from my highest weight (YAY!). Still 68 pounds to go for my personal goal (BOO!). I think this is why our journey of wls is so different than people who start out with lower BMIs. We can lose 134 pounds and still be fat!!! Anywho, here is a progress pic from today. Boobs and butt are still shrinking way faster than my gut but whatcha gonna do?! Would love to hear how my fellow super-sized ladies are doing! LaLaDee 519 Posted August 2, 2018 Hi Ladies! I think I’m a little further out than most of you but I wanted to share in case I can give anyone else hope. I’m nearly one year out from surgery and I’ve lost 70kg (154pounds) since then (no pre op program as I’m Australian). I started at 156 (343pounds) and I’m now 85kg (188pounds). Today I feel like a million bucks! 8 1 insta_adventurer, Jolexis, Deemar007 and 6 others reacted to this

I feel like Cinderella, once the clock hits midnight, (eg a year is up) the magic will be gone! No more weight loss! I’m really hoping it’s still possible. We larger ladies can have lots more to lose. It’s not possible to lose it in 6 months like people with lower starting weights. 2 eso0402 and Frustr8 reacted to this

You look fantastic! Congratulations. Today is my 3-month anniversary. My weight loss has been SLOW. I have only lost 41 since surgery (133 overall, though). I have been feeling pretty frustrated with the pace and just trying to be grateful for any change. I believe I am doing everything I can--eating well, exercising, no "cheating"--and this is just how my body is responding. Given the slow pace, it also feels hard to know that I have lost 133 pounds and still am more than 100 pounds overweight. Some of that is excess skin that I won't lose no matter what, but I am still just generally worried that I am not going to be able to lose much more. I need to cheer up because I'm sure the disappointment and worry isn't helping me.
