Update! Food suggestions

Recommended Posts

Guys, it’s been a great process so far, I’m just trying to figure out what to eat. Low fat, low sugar and low carbs would be ideal. I’m in minced foods by the way.

I am desperate for vegan Protein sources (allergic to dairy and dont like meat). The best tasting one I have found is Soylent Meal Replacement drinks, in the coffee flavor ( the black and white bottle). If memory serves me correctly, 20mg protein per serving. I blend it with ice and two dates in my Vitamix. It is incredibly delicious. Seriously, if you need a vegan protein source this stuff is awesome. I do have to drink it slow due to sugar content (maltodextrin) but otherwise it's perfect. I put up with that sugar because I am that desperate to get some protein.

Oops just re read your post and see you want low sugar. Sorry. Maybe that post will assist someone else, so I will leave it.

Have you tried salad? I was surprised to find that is one food I can eat a decent amount of. I load it with seeds.

When you get to regular foods, try Gardein brand of soy and pea Protein foods. It's meatless, meat. I've been enjoying that brand a lot myself.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
