Hay PCOSSUCKS, I'm sure a little popcorn as a one-off will not affect your surgery - the thing is I guess to make sure that is all it is and that there's no more slip-ups!

I find it really motivating to watch Youtubers who have lost all the weight they wanted to and how amazing they lok and feel. I also have a list of things to do instead of eating as my go-to when the cravings strike. My house has never been cleaner! ;)

HOpe you are able to take some 'me time' today. Be kind to yourself - this ain't easy!

Hi guys, i have surgery on May 29, so im in single digits...yay this is day 7 of a 14 day liquid diet im allowed 3 Protein Shakes, 1 sugar free Jello or sugar free popsicle a day. Lots of Water. I am allowed Decaf coffee but not a coffee drinker. So far lost 9 lbs, and I'm surprised at how good i feel. Really no hunger pains at all. The smell drives me crazy, but that passes quickly. I used my jello as my treat most days, and savor every spoonful. Good luck to us all, we are on the final lap to be on the losers bench.

So Better Every Day where are you located and where are you having your surgery? I first guessed UK because I've heard of others on milk pre surgery diets, then I thought Australia, New Zealand or Canada, at least a Commonwealth country. Now I'm not sure, I'm 🌝baffled, which is a new location. Shoot, you might even be in South Africa. So confess, where in this lovely🌏 world are you?

Hey Frustr8, I am in the UK! Having my surgery in Cornwall.

My family are having pizza for tea - I have withdrawn to the bedroom to escape the delicious smell!

BUT - I have survived the weekend with no slip-ups - Yay! Another week at work and then it is operation time.

WHen's your surgery?

THe coffee sounds yummmmmmmy! I'm only allowed 3-4 pints of semi-skimmed milk, one cup of clear broth, and a sugar free jelly (which I don't like!). Looking forward to making my coffee with a vanilla Protein Shake after the surgery though. I've found a really yummy sugar free Syrup that I put a tiny bit into my milk and coffee and it really is delicious.

Hard again today, but I am only 9 days away from my surgery now. I'm drinking my stock, then off out to mow the lawn for some exercise.

Hope you've all had a good day!

I'm May 30th!!!! 10 days till the op for me! I'm on day 6 of liquid diet, and surprised at how much easier it gets. I usually go out to the bars on Friday and Saturday nights and this is the first time in a LONG TIME I have stayed in on the weekends, and to be honest the first time I have not drank on a weekend in who the hell knows how long. I went out for happy hour with coworkers after work briefly and it was STRANGE being in a bar and not drinking! I do not think that is the scene I want to be in post-op.

Also, i went out to eat with friends and I had black coffee+protein shake, and unsweetened iced tea while they were eating fried chicken with fries, fried mac and cheese bites, and all this delicious looking food. I know I am doing this for a reason, but I sure as hell hope it gets easier. I had the sleeve before and 6 months post op if a slipped up it wouldn't be so bad, now that i'm getting the bypass I have the chance of dumping syndrome so i am even more scared of something going wrong.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
