Before and In Progress Pics?

You guys are so kind. Thank you for all the nice comments. I know weight loss can't solve all your problems, but my weight loss and new found fitness have changed my life. I was weighed down as much mentally by obesity as I was physically. The physical changes are obvious, but the mental changes are just as dramatic.

WOW! You all look great. This is so encouraging. I am scheduled for surgery on March 24, 2008. I found out a few days ago that I was approved and got my real surgery date yesterday. My stomach is in knots and my knees are shaking; but this thread reminds me of just one of the reasons I need to have this done. Thank you all so much for sharing your before and during pictures.

Congrats Pammy! You look gorgeous. :(

Ok I guess I will get the ball rolling and hope many people will join me. I would love to see how my fellow Crazy Ates are doing. My before picture was taken July 1st and my current one was taken halloween night. And Salsa the way I have been posting pictures is by clicking on the Manage Attachments link towards the bottom of the page and then adding photos that I have on my computer.

Salsa, you look like a totally different person! I bet if old friends saw you on the street, they would not recognize you. Wow, I am totally impressed by your weight loss. Good job!!:(

Top ten things I have learned in 6 months

10. 650 calories takes 5 minutes to eat and 2.5 hours to work off.

9. There is NOT always room for Jello.< /p>

8. Sometimes it takes 28 years before you can finally run that mile.

7. Even if no one sees you eat it, the calories still exist.

6. Size 10 is not just for someone else.

5. A double chin is not necessary for survival.

4. I wasn't big boned...just fat.

3. The scale only gives you a number, and I am MUCH more than a number.

2. To chew or not to chew...depends on how much foam you want to spit up.

And the number 1 thing that I have learned in the last 6 months...

1. To love who I have become, and to forgive myself for the past.

Oh yeah...AND I'M HOT!

Valstar, if Denzel could see you now! LOL Great job!

If this works, I wil feel like it is a major accomplishment! The first picture was taken in April of this year. Yes ladies, that is Denzel Washington. The second picture was taken around Thanksgiving. I have lost about 15 more pounds since then but I haven't taken any more pictures. I couldn't see the loss until I saw the pictures. I'm glad I did this. I hope it works!:(

I was so amazed by everyone's pics that I wanted to share mine too. I don't know if this will work though. But I've attached a before and current photo. I think there is a slight difference!

Andree, you are not a slow loser. 60+ pounds since August is fantastic. There are a some of us who have been very fast losers, largely because we do alot of exercise. I know I'm lucky to have a fast metabolism, good restriction from almost the beginning, and the time for and interest in exercising. Keep doing what you're doing and you'll be at goal before this year is over!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
