Yeah 2 of 10.... it’s raining here for the next 10 days so getting outside and going anywhere is like out of the question... sucks... when was your surgery?

Oh, well you are OK while on the injections. My doctor said they do 10 days of them because they expect you to be inactive the first week or so. I am 4 months post op, my surgery was 1/19.

I was only given the shots in the hospital and then they have switched me to a pill that I have to crush and take 2x per day.

Say here, tummy. It stung.

For anyone pre-op, this tip from my nurse: Let the alcohol that you used to sterilize the skin dry completely before you inject. It's the alcohol that stings.

I had to do two weeks worth of injections after surgery. As I was leaving the hospital the nurse said, "let me show you how you're going to do your injections." WHOOOOA, I'm sorry, what did you say???? Holy crap, I HATE needles - how am I going to do this????!!! Well, I told myself, do you want to die? No. Do you want to be skinny? Yes. Well, quit acting like a little B and let's do this. It wasn't as painful as I thought but somehow I did it. So if anyone is worried they won't be able to do it, you'll be amazed at how strong you are and what you will do to make this surgery work.

I had them for 14 days as well. I never used my thighs as an injection site. I always used different spots on my stomach. I found that it stung when some of the medicine creeped out of the syringe before injection. Otherwise I didn't feel anything.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
