LauraD84 18 Posted May 16, 2018 So I’m two weeks post-op and had no major complications, just had gas pain first week. This morning I woke up choking on bile and had to run and spit it up, my throat is on fire as well. I just realized that I must of accidentally rolled on to my stomach, but I’m not sure how long I was sleeping on it. Has this happened to anyone and what did you do? 1 ProudGrammy reacted to this
debbie89 93 Posted May 16, 2018 If your throat is burning it might be reflux. Lying flat allows that acid to wash back up to your throat. 2 1 ProudGrammy, LauraD84 and PCOSSUCKS reacted to this
Frustr8 7,886 Posted May 16, 2018 Sit up or prop yourself up in bed. Start sipping Water gently to reduce the acid" fire' in your throat. My grandmotherly advice would be to sip a little milk to set t le things down or take a Tums, if you're still feeling miserable after the sun rises, call your doctor's office and check in with them.❤and a Hug! 1 LauraD84 reacted to this

libbyleeb 97 Posted November 25, 2018 It happens to me if I eat too close to bedtime. I can’t go to sleep with a full stomach anymore. 1 ProudGrammy reacted to this

I see the original poster, is no longer with us (no she didn't die LOL") but talking about reflux is always important, newbies need help - answers Awful, awful, awful!! That terrible burning sensation!!I also was woken up with that burning, terrible feeling - I immediately sat up - went to fridge, and grabbed a slice of bread - had about 3 bites - this helps a bit - take prescribed med or tums. For me - continuing to lay on back would be awful. good luck kathy
