What is the highest weight you would be happy at if you could easily maintain it given that you were successful initially but rebounded and regained it becomes a constant struggle to lose again?

I have been thinking about this a lot and this is not to prompt a debate on success or failure but really acceptance of a possible outcome.

I have not honestly given much thought to lowest weight yet so I need to do some soul searching on that end ...

I think my current weight would make me very happy if I could sustain it for life.

Anyone else?

i thought i would be happy at 220 now i will try to maintain below 190 i feel very comfortable and can move very freely at this weight im just over a year out and for awhile i have maintained 185 to 190 back and fourth and feel pretty good

I'm still at the starting line, so this may change, but right now my goal is 150 - that puts me in normal weight range for the first time since high school! I want to get there if I at all can, but after that, if I got back up to 175, 180, I'd probably be happy enough. I've always thought a little bit of curves are nice.

I would be fine @ 200. As of right now I've been hovering about 175 since July. I am not trying to loose anymore and have been doing maintenance. But feel 200 would be fine if that is where I stayed

I'm currently defending a 130-135lb range (Goal #3). My absolute max I"m willing to accept at this point is 135lbs. So far, it's easy-ish. But it's early early days and I know I can gain VERY easily. All it takes is a couple of meals.

I would ultimate love it if I could one day see a healthy BDG goal of 125. Then I know I would defend the 125-130lb range like a rabid wolf. LOL. And of course, who am I kidding? I'd then wish I could drop to 123 so I could defend the mystical 120-125lb range (that's the mystical world of unicorns, fairies, magic, and poo pourri where farts and poo smell like citrus and bergamot).

Will never seeing BDG weight wig me out? Nah. Not so much. I'm pretty happy with life right her. Would seeing 136 wig me out? Yeah. More than a little.

I would love to get down to 135-140 but I would be happy to be at 170 because I would have lost 100lbs.

Still have 44lbs to reach losing 100

Placing the original question here too 💚

What is the highest weight you would be happy at if you could easily maintain it given that you were successful initially but rebounded and regained it becomes a constant struggle to lose again?

135lbs. :D That's the max I'm willing to entertain. But it's early days. Right? So what is the choice if it's not reality at 3+ years? :D

Okay so today I weighed in again (wasn’t planning on it, but I had some good quality bathroom time (yeah, maybe TMI, but I had been seriously battling some Constipation for weeks).
I’m down to 146.4, which is unbelievable considering I was in the lower 150’s for about 3 weeks.

I think it’s actually going to be possible for me to see 139, which is a complete mind F**K, TBH.

That being said, I understand that some rebound is to be expected so right now I’ll say anywhere in my modified GW range of 150-155.

When I started this program my team told me I would probably not get below 175. So I set a goal of 160 just to push it a little further than they anticipated. Like others have stated earlier in the thread, I also am trying to go as low as I can so that when a few pounds creep back on me it'll be okay. My new goal is 140, however if I stayed where I was right now for ever I could easily live with it. Ultimately though if I could get to and stay at 140 that would be awesome.

Yep. Exactly. It's an unknown variable in my life. So that's why I intend to be very vigilant and not have the laissez faire (for me) attitude of meh...I'll be happy at 150lbs. Nope. I will be VERY unhappy at 136lbs. I will be happy between 130-135lbs. And I will face 3 years from now or 5 or 10 when I get there and see what reality brings. :) I may have to renegotiate. But I'm certainly NOT gonna plan for failure (for me). I'm going to plan on strict compliance.

Cuz trust me. Failure happens. You don't have to plan for that catastrophe. Failure happens. You don't plan failure. You deal with the aftermath of failure.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
