Kay07 734 Posted May 16, 2018 I am still feeling pretty good! Getting all my walking and Water sipping on. I am glad I read so many threads about easier recoveries, because I think I’m one of them. Gas pain is almost gone, and the most irritating this is the pain in the largest incision site. Yesterday I got in around 35oz of fluids, and probably 20g of Protein. My goal for today is 45 oz Fluid and 30g of Protein. Considering the minor insomnia I’m having I think this should be possible [emoji4] 3 Kate48, FluffyChix and laurileet reacted to this

Ernie D 44 Posted May 21, 2018 First of All YOU GOT THIS YOU ARE VERY PREPARED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Many things you will expect to happen do and some happen you didn't expect........so basically, go with the flow, listen to your surgeon and health providers, YOU WILL GET THROUGH THIS GREAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! While I was in the hospital I completely shut myself off of TV, any social media etc. I just had time to think and rest and concentrate on me. I was taking care of everyone else right up until my surgery ( 28 days ago ) and just being able to be at the hospital and "listen" to my body and understand what was going on was good. Stay Encouraged, you go this far YOU ARE GOING TO DO GREAT . Sending Blessings and Best Wishes. 2 Kate48 and Kay07 reacted to this
laurileet 86 Posted May 21, 2018 I've been prepping my house like crazy! serious deep cleaning because I envision myself resting after surgery and seeing a dirty corner and wanting to jump up and clean it. And if done a bunch of cook n freeze for my husband and son (20 yrs old) because .. you know.. they have no idea where the kitchen is. duh. they'll be FINE. But we moms have to take care of everyone else. I have chicken broth, turkey broth, various shakes, all waiting for me in the pantry. The only thing I wonder is what to bring to the hospital with me. I have a small list: a book to read, because day time tv stinks, toothbrush and paste, comfy clothes to go home in, my cell phone so I can text my office that I survived, insurance card and ID. what else???? 1 Kay07 reacted to this

I had surgery last Monday and would recommend that you bring Chapstick… My lips were literally peeling after three days. Definitely a phone charger. Your own pillows if you can. It’s impossible to get comfortable in a hospital bed but having my Tempur-pedic pillow would’ve made it 1000 times better. Some good friends for support. My husband was with me most the time and my best friend was invaluable. They watched me get sick repeatedly, held my hand and encouraged me the entire time. I could not of done it without them. 2 Kay07 and Orchids&Dragons reacted to this

Social media, TV, etc. will be at the bottom of your priority list but taking care of yourself will be number one. Good luck! 1 Kay07 reacted to this
