:help:I have been banded for almost exactly one year. In the first 3 months I went from 265 to 229 and am now hovering around 242 - 245. I have about as much discipline as a 2 peckered billy goat.

I quit going to the doctor until 2 weeks ago because I felt as though I was failing miserably. They increased my fill and it has made no difference.

I regularly have to PB or more. Usually well chewed food comes back up. Sometimes I can eat quite a bit and sometimes I can't eat two bites.

I have a flouroscopy scheduled for mid-November to see if the band is still properly placed.

I would enjoy...even entertain any good bantor, conjecture, a decent insult, constructive advice, condolences or any dang thing that would help me go forward.

Thanks

Annoyed and not very pleased.

i don't know if your dr. has told you this, but mine says to come back every two weeks if you don't lose 2 lbs. per week. i have been trying to do that faithfully since i had my surgery in june (fills that is). i have only lost about 34lbs in 5 months and i haven't done much exercise, but i have never gained a pound since i've had the surgery. i'm losing very slowly but i keep going every two weeks for fills til i get it right. i've had 5 fills (4.5cc) and don't feel quite the tightness i know it could. with each one i do notice a difference and i think i'm getting very close. i hope that they don't find that there is something wrong with yours and you end up having to take it out or repairing it, because my advice to you is to hang in there and try the way my drs. have told his patients to do. good luck!! i hope i have a help for you!!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
