Creekimp13 5,840 Posted May 10, 2018 Write out a list. Get ONLY what is on the list. Take an accountability buddy with you for support. Reward yourself when you're done with a non-food reward. (I like to wander over to cosmetics after the food shopping and get some cool new nail polish, or a bath bomb or some nice little indulgence. I also like to reward myself by doing a little clothes shopping, Doesn't have to break the budget....Even picking up some cute underwear or slipper socks...just some nice little reward for staying on track) Also...talk to your dietitian about this. And if you get a referral to a dietary therapist...make sure to go. They will have some awesome ideas and it just plain can't hurt:) Wishing you the best. 2 XYZXYZXYZ1955 and GreenTealael reacted to this
XYZXYZXYZ1955 675 Posted May 10, 2018 I think Creekimp 13's suggestions are all very good. I'd also suggest browsing for recipes on this site and elsewhere to find things that will excite you to try but that are within the bounds of what we should be eating. I started a "high Protein, low carb" section on my Pinterest page just to save these things so I can try some new recipes and keep things interesting. bluebutterfly 60 Posted May 10, 2018 Have you considered using a grocery delivery service like Shipt. It’s pretty reasonable and I save money by not buying impulse purchases. It’s easy to stick to a plan when your not browsing the isles. I love it and while it does cost $15 a month plus whatever I tip the delivery person, I’ve found my grocery bill has significantly decreased and I’m saving money as well as having a much easier time sticking to good food choices to have in the house. 1 Taoz reacted to this
Losebig 508 Posted May 10, 2018 You could do delivery or pickup of groceries. Almost every store near me offers free pickup even Walmart. That way you never even go in the store and order food on the app or website. I also end up eating the same things so my shopping never gets creative and I never even go on aisles that are bad (I.e.) the chip aisle. Ypu could also have someone else do the shopping if you live with someone. 1 GreenTealael reacted to this
