Here's a little tip I discovered last summer when I was too nervous to have the surgery:

If you still have time before surgery, look at your local ads for garage sales and find the ones specifically advertising "plus-size clothes." Those can be big bonus buy places: I've found a lot of sales where the seller seems to have had WLS (I don't ask unless she/he is talking about it) and is selling a range of plus/XL sizes of clothes and also WLS books and the types of smaller tupperware, dishes, scales, measuring cups, and other handy kitchen items folks like us can use. Plus, it's like clothes shopping for the future!

(Here in MN we only have a small weather window for these types of sales, and we're not even there yet--so it's get it while you can. . . and I've got some lovely clothes awaiting me from previous bargain hunting! :))

I'm having a sale to sell all my clothes and I can't believe the outpour of women who are interested. I posted on Facebook and within 24 hours I had 30+ women contact me privately wanting to shop before my garage sale.

Something to keep in mind, Garage Sales already swinging into gear in Ohio, once I have my surgery I will have dumpsterfull of 26'30 range clothes, alas no hardly name brand unless you consider Just my Size and refugees from WalLyWorld men's department, I dressed to cover, not. to be cute . But watch out world🌏 my cute will re-emerge, I am going to rock it this late in life, look for the old fluffy🐑 ewe dressed as a cute little lamb. And if I wear a cute little🎊 ribboned bow, it will cover my neck wrinkles!😛

I hear ya. I live in Northwestern Wisconsin and we just went from winter to summer. Where do you live in MN? If you're in the twin cities area, some cities are having community-wide garage sales coming up.

One to look forward to , no that I've ever been to The Massive Route40/National Road Yard Sale. Multi-state with Mega Deals, Google it for the date this year, sometime this summer.😝

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
