Liquid diet jello question

Recommended Posts

Im 5 days post surgery and have had the best recovery ever. I was able to sleep on my side immediately and could always tolerate liquids. I was out and about the second day.

Im bored of Water and my 50/50 Protein. SF Jello is something im allowed. Im wondering if its typical to be able or unable to eat a whole 2 oz serving at once. I have 2 oz souflé cups premade but am eating slowly with a baby spoon. I dont want to overdo it and eat 2oz at one setting.....im petrified of this being so easy that i end up doing something wrong.

Should i be able to eat this whole thing?

Shoukd i be able to eat a whole sf popsicle?

5 days= 7lbs donated to those in need

^^^^thats a joke between my daughter and i. When i lose something i always try to find it again. When Ive given to charity, it's gone and i am free of it forever

I feel you because i am so scared to eat and sometimes i feel like i am eating too much but i too was able to eat the whole popsicle. The Jello sounds like a decent portion to be eating you also have to consider the amount of time you are taking to eat it. I guess just as long as you don't feel uncomfortable or sick in any way it is okay to consume. Best of luck.

Hello my recovery is being good as yours I have 10 days of surgery. 2oz Jello took me almost 2 hrs. I used to be fast eating and now everything takes for ever. I am having homemade chicken broth almost an hour for 2 oz

I had bypass - but I could fairly easily eat sf Jello and sf popscicles right after surgery. My dietician explained that it was essentially liquid and slipped right through my pouch much like the Water or tea I was drinking. So they weren't concerned at all. congrats on your weight loss so far! Keep up the good work!

That's me. I have boxes from 12-22. I'm happy to be rid of the bigger clothes forever soon. Donated.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
