June Sleevers Lets Get Excited!!!

Recommended Posts

Anti-acid pills, rumored to help a sour stomach, routinely Calcium Carbonate, something a sleeved or bypasser cannot digest and use, so it gets💩out. A waste of money in the long run, common brand is Tums.

Hey guys its been a while,

Checking in to see how progress is going, I'm still slow and steady.... Still can not eat salads which makes me a little sad because i've been craving chick-fil-a salads and every time i eat them i'm sick for a few days. Avacados also bother me but not as bad anymore. Carbs are still my bestfriends and i'm trying to slowly kill that relationship lol. Hope everyone is hitting there mile stones. Would love some picture updates for motivation. I will post this afternoon!

I had my surgery on 30th June and I've lost 73lbs altogether. I can eat pretty much anything now, although bread and Pasta make me feel uncomfortably full. Constipation is still a problem occasionally and I'm developing some loose skin. However, I feel so much better over all, these two problems seem like a small price to pay.

lost 46 since surgery, 73 since HW

very slow now but at least it’s still going down. No issues with anything I’ve tried eating so far, but I too miss enjoying a big salad (especially from Panera 🙄).

Good evening sleevers,

my surgery date was June 14th and I’ve lost 78lbs so far. I haven’t introduced myself to rice potatoes not bread YET. I was wearing a size 22 and today I brought a size 10. I’m super happy but frustrated that my pouch doesn’t like much. I still have a problem with salads, chicken, and salmon. I mostly eat ground turkey, Beans, oatmeal, nuts, eggs, bacon and Protein Bars.

photo on the left is my work ID that was taken last July. Photo on the right was taken two weeks ago.

I hated taking pictures before that really showed my weight so I don’t have a lot.... this was last thanksgiving and it’s not my heaviest.... I was at about 190 in these pictures my highest weight was 202.... and the current is from today.... I just happened to catch a glimpse of myself as I was walking out of my bathroom and thought omg that’s really me!! I’m down two sizes and not where I want to be but I’m so much closer. I feel good in my clothes and in my skin.... this was truly the best decision I ever made.

Hi everyone,

I'm so happy to read all about the progress from everyone. I'm down 40lbs so far since my June 21st surgery. Here's a before and after. Slow and steady, still working on keeping those bad carbs to a minimum.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
