Thank you all for the encouragement! Honesyly, I'm in a ton of pain... That gas pain is no joke! And swallowing the tiny droplet of Water from an ice chil is so very painful.

My left abdomen is hugely swollen and tender, which makes it hard to find a comfortable position. My roommate is a chatty Cathy with lights on all night...

Those are the downsides at the moment. But I KNOW good things are around the corner! So I keep going on walks and pushing through the pain. It will be worth it! I can't wait to get home to my own bed lol

You got it. My first 2-3 days were horrid but by day 4 it was much better. Just keep pushing

My surgery is over. Even had hiatal hernia repaired while in surgery. No pain, no vomiting or dry heaves! First week was hardest with Clear Liquids only. Second week so much better with yogurt & Protein Drinks for strength. Dr. Ponce was awesome even though he doesn’t speak English! I’m looking forward to eating solids in the future!

My Surgery was Wednesday 6/13. They put a nausea patch behind my ear before surgery and gave me reglan. I had one complication from the anesthesia-- couldn't pee! So I had to have a catheter overnight. They pulled it and the drains yesterday 6/14 and I am home. Otherwise all has been good. I haven't been sick or in too much pain. Just sore. Drinking Life Water has been a breeze.

I crushed my meds and I had a cramp and pain when I took them. Two ounces of pear juice and I definitely knew it and had a slight cramp. Not taking the pain meds during the day now. Plan to return to work Monday for my desk job.

I’m day 10 post op. Doing well on the full liquid diet. My plan had me starting “mushy” food today. I did one scrambled egg with 7g of low-fat cheese and it hurt my stomach! I was so excited to start mushy today but the eggs have me feeling yucky! Any other post-ops have any advice or insight?

I had surgery on Monday. Anyone else have bad acid in the mornings? I have to take my depression and anxiety meds in the morning and each morning I feel almost nauseated. Also, my calf muscles ache. Any tips or tricks?

I was given Protonix in the hospital for acid and now take Prilosec every morning to prevent acid. I was told I would take the Prilosec for three months and then eval going off of if then. Were you not given anything?

Alabama, Texas And California, got to ❤BP I'm learni,g from ladies I wouldn't getbto, meet, otherwise. Don't know,if I would be as brave as Fallinfast but I could be just as perky afterward. If we got to vote I'd v want to be her running mate. But I treasure the stories of all of you. Yes I know we are all individuals but if something happens in mine, I can look back and say Annieb93 had that or Fallinfast, made it through that,😛 it helps.👉😛👈

Sending good vibes to you. Here’s to the rest of our lives…

June 19th, here I come! :228_baby_chick:

Can’t wait for this preop liquid phase to be over, although I know the road ahead is long. I am very excited about the possibilities that life holds for me and my family with this change I am making.

Surgery was yesterday June 14th and I’m taking fluids right now and it’s horrible and feel so uncomfortable. I feel great until I drink or take a pain pill so now I’m on just Tylenol. I’ve been walking a lot because that makes me feel great. I wasn’t able to pass gas at the hospital until today I got into the car with my awful driving husband 😂😂😂lol. So that’s they plan when I stall at passing gas. Car ride around the corner 🚗 . I’m just so great full to have him take off and spend this journey with me from the beginning to the end. He did almost more than the nurses. Overall I have no regrets on day 2 let’s see what tomorrow brings.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
