marciamae3474 2 Posted May 8, 2018 I’m just starting my journey down the pre op road, almost one month in. The thing that worries me the most is whether I’m going to succeed against the food obsession. It has been my comfort, my celebration, etc. In the past while dieting, I’d get to the point of almost a panic attack at times. Really worried. Any encouragement would be so great. I am 6 days out from VSG surgery and have moments where I feel really sad that I can’t eat something, or wonder, will I feel hungry forever? That sounds like torture to me! It’s an emotional rollercoaster, on top of physical surgery, recovery and changes. I would start now, get outside, try new hobbies, find fulfillment in things other than food. Also, therapy.
