Beta98 93 Posted May 7, 2018 (edited) How does your Rheumatologist feel about you having this surgery? Most autoimmune diseases is the body attacking itself. It thinks your healthy cells are a virus or infection and attacks them. If your body feels it is under attack (even falsely so) you can have flares. What your Rheumatologist says and feel is above what the other doctors think when it comes to surgeries and such because they understand your cells and what is going better than the other doctors. Trystinsmom 7 Posted May 7, 2018 I have an appointment on Wednesday to discuss in further and have repeat blood work. Of course the first thing he stated was that I needed to lose weight. We talked about the sleeve, he is an older doctor but supportive. He said I would definitely need to be monitored closely to adjust medications as needed as well.
