JOANN 0 Posted November 1, 2007 HELLO EVERYONE, I WAS BANDED 9-10-07 IN VICTORIA TEXAS. START WEIGHT 286 GOAL 160. HAD A BAD EXPIERENCE AFTER SURGERY, TO MUCH SWELLING AROUND BAND. THREW UP EVERYTHING SALIVA INCLUDED. IN HOSPITAL 6 DAYS BEFORE SWELLING WENT DOWN. ONLY IV NUTRITION. I LOST 23 LBS BEFORE I LEFT THE HOSPITAL. WEIGHT LOST TO THIS DATE 33 LBS. I HAD MY FIRST FILL 10-26-07, 1.2 ML. IT FEELS VERY TIGHT, CAN HARDLY EAT. ONLY EATING TABLESPOONS AT A TIME. AFRAID THAT THEIR IS MORE SWELLING, BUT NOT THROWING UP. ALL IS GREAT. I'M DOWN TWO SIZES. JOANN:clap2:
VegasGrace 1 Posted November 1, 2007 Thanks for the post. Everyone is different and while most have no issues after surgery, some do. It's good to 'hope for the best/prepare for the worst'. Down 2 sizes.... WOW, already. JoAnn...congrats and keep us posted on how things are going for you!
jsnider 0 Posted November 3, 2007 We were banded about the same time. I was 9-20-07. I have only lost 15lbs, but I have not had a fill and have not had troubles with eating at all. I eat everything. I will go in next week to have it tightened. I took 2 weeks of only fluids before I started on semi solids. I didn't have a blender so I hesitated being scared something would happen. I don't have a support system and I am mom to 2 kids, so if something goes wrong and I am in ER they go to social services, so I went in knowing how careful I would have to be. My friend came over 2 wks after and we had a buffet, I had a bite of everything, so my doc said if I throw up just go to clear solilds for 2 days or so. I read the book "when food is love" I think that all of us need to read this book because even mid sized people eat to much sometimes. Our world may have become a bit uncompassionate and seculded so this helps to get back out there emotionally.
