Are you an unguided grazer?

Recommended Posts

I just told Rick the other night---no one cooked this much before I was banded!!! He replied it was because I did it all! Now that I don't the rest of the family takes up the slack, but man it is hard not to eat it all! And I am not hungry!

I want to lose a few pounds before surgery, and hoping since I am going to be back to liquids for a few days I can drop some. Then finally we can get some thyroid hormone into my system, and it should boost my metabolism according to the oncologist--one can only hope.

Losing your hair is very emotional---I hope this is not going to happen for your DD. Give her a big hug from her cyber Auntie Kat (if at 11 she will still let you!!)---and tell her it does grow back!!! Mine fell out straight, and light blonde, grew back darker and curlier--go figure!!!

Kat

Good luck with your surgery.

You will probably be at goal in no time after surgery.

I will definately give her a huge hug from you!

I hope all of it doesn't fall out either.

I look at her sometimes and she just doesn't look like my baby.

Her hair, nails, weight and skin is so different from the chemo.

Gurlie she hates when I hug and kiss her especially in public.

Why are kids like that?

Were we like that?

It hurts my feelings but you know kids.

I wish I could just put her in my arms and walk around with her like that all day.

Seeing that she is 5ft1 and I'm 5ft2 that might be impossible. LOL!

Plus she's my only child.

It's amazing how strong she is!

GOD will see her through.

Everytime I look into the clouds I see the creator smiling on us!

I too am a grazer, was before I was banded and tend to do the same now. I plan my day coffee and granola bar for Breakfast holds me over to lunch, which can be a salad or yogurt and fruit, I keep Snacks in the car so I am not famished when I get home from work...then while I am cooking dinner I taste this and that and before I know it, I have consumed who knows how much....I used to sit down to a full plate of food, now I feel full and have a few bites more and I'm done, but still I don't know how much I am comsuming due to the grazing.

When I first felt good restriction I would not graze, I am beginning to think it's time for a fill, and the scales being stuck for almost 2 months are screaming....time for a fill.

Beth

Sirena it is so easy to do that!

I use to cook alot before banding.

If I snack I have no room for my dinner.< /p>

So now I don't have a clue as to how much I have eaten.

Planning is better because you all of your nutrition in.

How do you know when it's time for a fill?

I had one on october 5th.

I'm still losing weight.

This cold is killing me too!.

I was up all night coughing up cold all night.

I felt like I was drowning in my own mucous!

I did it again, grazed all the while I was fixing dinner for the kids. I have been trying to cut out carbs so that I don't crave so much, and the only thing I seem to binge on is high carb food. So tonight I munched on carrots while I was fixing food. I have to be very careful with carrots, I chew them forever and still feel them stick a little. Had a roasted chicken thigh, a piece of cheese and a few bites of the dinner I prepared. At least I didn't sit down to a full meal afterwards. But it looks like I won't have time off to go for a fill for a while.

Is it time for you to get a fill?

It's been a month since my first fill.

I have been having reflux at night.

I eat and drink too close to bedtime.

I have to change this habit.

I'm so guilty of this!!!

I never plan my meals to tell you the truth... at first it really didn't matter because i was loosing.. But now that things are slowing down i am starting t take a look at how i eat and basically changing the bad habits... It isn't easy but this is one of the challenges we bandsters have to overcome sooner or later. But the band is there to remind us when we are taking things a little overboard :)

You know the band definately stops you!

I have this habit because I am always on the go.

Than I walk 5-6 miles a day and wonder if I am eating enough or too much.

I'm glad you caught yourself.

The weightloss will pick back up soon!

Good luck 2 ya!

lawanda jessica thanks and im also always on the go so i definagely know how you feel...

so today im having some friends over for dinner and i asked what they all wanted and of all things they want is spaghetti.. so i decided to make it the right way.. I went online ot a recipe for home made sauce.. i used lean turkey meat instead of ground beef and whole wheat Pasta and well i did a little taste test(literally at the end to see if any salt or seasonings were needed and so far its good... in a healthier style.. ) now all i got to do is wait till my friends show up which should be any minute now...

Good luck to you as well:D

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
