I'm 3 weeks post op, I'm on the soft/puree phase and looking for some Breakfast ideas. I do eggs, egg beaters, yogurt or roast beef hash. I don't like cottage cheese and can't do too much dairy. And no protien shakes or adding protien powder to my foods because they just don't sit well in my stomach. So if you have any other ideas please share away!! Thanks in advance!

I make 1/2 serving of oatmeal (with hi-pro milk), with cinnamon & splenda and add a little applesauce for flavor. I can't eat the whole thing, but really enjoy what I can manage. Good luck!

Had another appointment with my nutritionist yesterday and she recommended a site called skinnytaste.com Havn't spent much time there yet but does break down recipes by a lot of variable like course, ingredients, special diet etc. Looks pretty good. Good luck!!

I eat egg beaters (1/2 cup) with s little bit of cheese for breakfast almost every day. Sometimes I’ll cut up deli turkey very small and put that in too, or peppers and Mexican cheese.

Greek yogurt is another good go to. It may not be soft enough, but turkey sausage links are good Protein too. Regular eggs are always a good option with toast (if your not low carb) or cheese.

My office recommends egg whites and ham, puréed and then topped with a little cheese. I’m still on full liquids so this sounds wonderful at this point. I am so tired of anything sweet.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
