Yep, Wife and i made it to the YMca this morning to swim some laps, sit in the hot tub and hang in the sauna for a while.

Not crazy intense exercise but it was something.

Hi! I'm a relatively new bandster. Thought maybe this thread might help me stay on top of my exercise game! Not much left in November, but there is no time like the present right? How long did you guys wait post-surgery before adding weight/resistance training? I have so much info in my brain I just can't remember what Doc said and feel like I rely on my IRL band friend too much already! I feel ready to start tomorrow, but really don't want to push it!

JennJenn, I would wait at least 6 weeks post surgery for weights. You can pretty much do most cardio right now, as long as theres no pulling on your stomach, something jumpy like cardio kickboxing or running, I'd hold off on that. Welcome to the thread!!!!

Hi, guys! I'm back from my trip to Houston since Wednesday! Missed y'all again! I didn't do a flippin' thing while I was gone and I'm ready to hit the gym hard tomorrow if my chest cold doesn't keep me in. I don't know if I'm going out of town again this weekend or not...depends if my mechanic can fix the heater in my truck this week or not. I will NOT drive in the cold like I did this evening...I was a complete POPSICLE!

I am determined to continue losing weight through the holiday season! Lord, please help me to be strong! LOL I think I'm going to step up my cycling (even if it's on the recumbent at the gym) to help me stave off the holiday feeding frenzy!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
