psychnurse1 30 Posted May 1, 2018 So I’ve been reading that others are having so much trouble with getting in shakes and Protein and I have no problem drinking broth and shakes.... I’m only 4 days out. This was today. Am I doing something wrong?
allwet 868 Posted May 1, 2018 (edited) no there is just a huge range of reactions after surgery. some people take a lot longer to get over the surgery and have there new sleeves settle down for them. people at the extremes tend to post more cause they need the reassurance that this to will pass. Those that have no issues tend to lurk and watch a bit more and post less Edited May 1, 2018 by allwet 2 teacherlady095 and okayestmom reacted to this
magpie26 244 Posted May 4, 2018 I struggle with Water or "fluids" and at this point in my post op (2 weeks) my dietician said shakes don't count as Fluid, only back in the day when we couldn't fit both. Ugh. I have timers going off all the time for my sips and sips and sips of water. So hard when you were a former water chugged! 2 SallyH and okayestmom reacted to this

Does she not consider milk or smoothie a fluid, either? I'd never make it even close if I didn't have shakes as fluid. It will all be worth it. Don't give up! 1 okayestmom reacted to this
DesertGirl 14 Posted May 4, 2018 I am one that definitely struggles. I keep a very strict timeline, and even that doesn't go as planned because I might feel too full. I am not taking pain meds since I'd have to swallow them (wasn't prescribed liquid). I feel too full for too long after taking them. So I'm in a bit of pain and that throws it off, too.It will all be worth it. Don't give up!

We did count them, but she said now that it's getting warm and my stomach is healing more and more she wants me to count mostly Water and non sugary drinks etc, i don't even do caffeine so I don't worry about that in the future. I just feel like this is a new thing, I felt like I could eat more even last week. Weird. and WTF?! No liquid meds?! I am bossy about my healthcare so I would call ASAP. You heal faster without pain. I could do pills from day 2 but they take up room. 1 DesertGirl reacted to this
Albus 130 Posted May 5, 2018 I was sleeved same day as you and not struggling either. My programme is just for 1 Protein Shake a day and the rest is soup/yoghurt/pudding/smoothie. I can get the shake/smoothie/pudding Soup down grand but the yoghurts I have are a bit thicker so more challenging! It’s interesting how things evolve, for the first 3 days it was very much a ‘need to eat now’ mentality but yesterday I actually started to want food 1 okayestmom reacted to this

Frustr8 7,886 Posted May 5, 2018 This Android is absolutely asinine in posting, makes gibberish out of lucid thoughts and posts in the middle of a sentence without me hitting "Send"!😭😪 1 okayestmom reacted to this

It is by far my favorite app! You can scan your food by the barcode, tracks weight, measurements, does so much and is great for PRE and POST op! The only thing i don't like about it is the recipe "maker" , but otherwise i love it. Highly recommended. Edited May 5, 2018 by magpie26

psychnurse1 30 Posted May 6, 2018 Yes it’s Baritastic ... they have a very active Facebook as well. In their store I bought some powdered Soups that are less calories than Optifast and are good
