2 week post op RNY update

Recommended Posts

So, today is my 2 weeks post op. I am feeling absolutely amazing! I had a little pain and discomfort for about the 1st three days, but on day four i was even sleeping on my side and stomach. I have lost 25 lbs so far....and can kind of tell in my shirts. Ill probably have to lose about 50 before i can really tell since i was so heavy to begin with.

I am concerned that i am able to eat too much. At first was was literally only able to eat two spoons of broth. But as i progressed to soft foods, i have found that eating slowly, i am able to eat about 1/2 to 1 full cup of food before i can tell that i am full. My surgeon said that its because my stomach and brain arnt communicating yet and that i need to stop at 1.2 cup. i think i really need to work on that because one of the reason i got so big was because i didn't want to stop until i was full. I am doing great on my Water and Protein and vits. I do get hiccups every time i eat. ( The dr said that this was my sign that i have had enough or even too much.)

How is everyone else doing on week 2 post op? what is your diet? I can pretty much eat anything as long as i chew it up very very well. ( Other than breads, pastas...pastries...ect) in a moment of weakness...i tried a small bite of noodles ( threw it up) , tried 4 chips ( threw them up) ...i know i need to be stronger and am working on it for sure. Since those episodes, i haven't even WANTED those things. Honestly, i dont really have any other cravings yet....which is a good thing!

Oh my gosh I'm with you! I'm still on week one, but hopefully progressing to week two and soft foods soon! But I am so bad! I've bit some watermelon chewed it up really well, and then spit it out. No nausea or vomiting, just general discomfort :/
