PinkFreud 15 Posted April 30, 2018 How long after surgery did you wait to start exercising more than just walking? I was advised to wait until my first follow up appointment to start strenuous exercising. So, at three weeks I was cleared and started jogging (I am currently 5 weeks post bypass). Creekimp13 5,840 Posted April 30, 2018 Around three weeks:) But listen to your body and don't overdo it:)
Ronaldo 0 Posted April 30, 2018 Walk is the best post op exercise, but do it near your house in case you feel weak, it is the best remedy for the dreaded gas too ;p.
TexasMommy80 297 Posted April 30, 2018 I think I would pass out if I tried to exercise, and I am 2 weeks out of VSG. I am hoping that I have more energy when I am done with the liquid diet. Three weeks of this is hard, and I really want some food. Age: 37Height: 5’6BMI: 37VSG: 4/16/18GW: 160MFP: Fit4LifeAR
redhead_che 824 Posted May 1, 2018 I wasn’t allowed to do anything but walk until my 6 week post op visit. 5 months post op and I’m doing cardio every day and weights 4 days a week.
JitterbugPerfume 23 Posted May 1, 2018 I've been told to wait until 6 weeks. I've done some light, beginner yoga on crappy days though.
misskim3297 13 Posted May 1, 2018 I am currently 5 weeks post-op ds surgery. I was ok'd for walking, elliptical and stairmaster after 2 weeks. I haven't gone to the gym yet bc I love to lift weights and it would be too tempting. At my 6 week followup I should get the ok for more strenuous exercise and to use weights. Ronaldo 0 Posted May 2, 2018 i know that you feel like crap after the op, i had to walk to move the gas around otherwise any food would cause me to feel bloated somedays for the whole day.
