Wowsers everybody, thank you thank you for the raw and factual updates. One of the TV evsnglists late MIL watched, don't think there was one she missed
" Now,reach out sister and claim your victory. Yeah grab a hold of that sucker and grip,it for dear life. Now holler Amen" right about now he would say if anyone had $25 he'd be right proud to take it off your hands and I'd bellow from the other room " sweet mother maggie, are you watching, HIM again?"
Ah sweet sweet memories. Stay cool, don't drool and escape when you csn!😛🌹😒💕

Like 3 full cups (8oz) or the little medical cups? If you’ve gotten 24 oz of Fluid in so far you’re my friggin hero!
I FINALLY managed to walk off all the c02 gas around my stomach, so no more shoulder pains and stuff, but boy did I have A LOT of actual gas in my new tiny tummy! So I was laying in bed here for good hour massaging around the sutures to push the gas up and out. Went pee and felt better so I decided to lay on my tummy in bed. After a couple burps and farts, [emoji23] I’m feeling pretty good. Just had another oz of Water.< br> The only thing really hurting now is my lower back, and that from a previous injury that I typically take muscle relaxers for. I think once I get home I’m hopefully 12 hours, and I’m able to take one of those I’ll be fine. Here’s hoping anyway since we don’t get pain meds sent with us when we leave! All that’s a wee bit sore in the front is the largest of the 4 sutures where they did most of the work and pulled the old tummy out of.
I hope everyone else is getting better as the night progresses! Please let me know how you’re all doing because lord knows I’ll be on here talking about EVERYTHING since I can’t seem to sleep.< br>

Congrats everyone. I finished my liquid requirement (20oz in 4.5 hours) and am waiting for my papers. I will say, this was much more painful than I expected! Wishing you all a speedy recovery and a successful journey [emoji8]

Oh my gosh yes about the pain! Now it’s only some intestinal gas and tenderness at the 4 sutures so extra strength Tylenol is doing the job well. I walked ALL DAMN NIGHT last night. I know that hospital and patient room buildings like the back of my hand now! [emoji23]Are you feeling better now?

That’s awesome! I’ve been able to get in 33.8 oz Water and 24 oz of broth in today. No nausea or vomiting and the severe pain quit around 9 this morning. Just the intestinal gas pain and suture tenderness.
Are you still feeling good?

I am ok, just now starting to feel like my old self. Haven’t pooped yet so doc told me to take milk of magnesia before I go to bed.

I just have that tugging sensation on my belly at the incision sites. Changed my bandages today and my incisions look great! No leaking at all.

I’m just starting to feel like myself. Oddly enough I’ve not had any gas pain at all. I’ve had more incision pain though. Is everyone on full liquid diets? I also have a drain coming out of one of my incisions. Does anyone else have one?

oh and strangely enough I’ve been craving pickles of all things. I finally ended up drinking a few tablespoons of it and it was awesome.😁

I’m doing well. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how great this recovery has been. I had an appendectomy last year and it was more painful than this sleeve recovery.
@ReneKiser yes I’m on full liquid right now. I have my follow-up appt on the 18th and I have to eat an egg before my appt to see if I’m ready to transition to soft foods. I don’t have a drain for my incisions.

I am not on a full liquid diet and I had no drain.

I have my 1 week post op this Thursday and doc said I will be on liquids for 3 weeks but he never mentioned full liquids.

I’m also pleasantly surprised by how nicely recovered I am! I’m still on the Clear Liquids, but I’m seeing my surgeon today and I’ll find out if I can go to full now. No nausea at all! Terrible gas pains for the first 48 hours, then nuthin! Got in 449 calories and 51g of Protein yesterday. 52oz of Fluid. Moving right along!
I also did not have a drain.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
