Stalled since November, help!

Recommended Posts

Hello,

So, I had bariatric surgery in late August and since November, I've been stalled in my weight loss at roughly 130 kg. Nothing I do seems to work. I've been keeping meticulous tabs on my Water and nutritional intake, I've been working out every day, I've had gallbladder surgery (so I can't even have fatty foods without getting sick), my surgeon put my on phentermine and I still haven't been able to break this stall.

Does anyone know how I can break this stall? I've been trying everything and so far, nothing seems to work. :(

I've had some stalls, and, at least in part, some of that was attributable to my own divergence from the plan, but I think, given the amount of time that's gone by, I'd check with the doctor and nutritionist if I were you.

Good luck.

I had my gallbladder out in December and my weight loss has slowed way down. Went for my 6 months and they told me more Protein . 80 grams a day. I also use an app on my phone and it helps me keep better track . Started losing again since I use the app. I also can tell when I’m not losing on the scale, I am in inches. My clothes start fitting different.

Yeah, so do I. I typically get in at least 85 g of Protein a day and I am also keeping track of waist measurements and weigh ins because everything syncs to the cloud. I think that typically, people tend to take you more seriously when you have data to back you up.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
