It took me 2 years to get use to wearing mine. I have had surgery 12 different times & only had to take my
Cpap to the hospital once.

I had to bring mine. The alternative was that the hospital would provide one, which didnt sound clean to me!

Yes, i would rather bring mines as well. Thanks[emoji4]

Same as apple203.... but told me to bring the accessories (tube, mask etc) and they’d have the base machine. They didn’t have one but I was asked why I wasn’t using my cpap about 20 Times over the two nights stay bc I was having a hard time breathing while sleeping. (They monitor your vitals obviously through the wires etc)

Long story short—. Bring yours!

For those having problems with their cpap, have it checked and try different types of masks. It took about 4 different mask attempts but once I found the one that worked for me I was in heaven. I put that thing on and i'm asleep in 10 minutes or less. Also I had to move to an Auto CPAP that adjusts itself to my rhythm during the night so I don't get too much or too little pressure. The first machine my insurance approved was a joke but once I got them to switch it to auto cpap all was well.

They gave me a small mask then a big mask and both are terrible. I wake up every morning with red eyes because of the air blowing out the sides. They won't change it for me any more [emoji20] . I'll have to talk to tgem about the auto cpap sounds more doable. Thanks hun [emoji1]

My surgeon's policy is if you don't bring your cpap you will not recieve narcotic pain meds after the surgery.

Get systane gel eyedrops. They're thick and goop but the keep your eyes hydrated. I use them every night and I can definitely tell a difference. They're not cheap but the bottle lasts a few weeks.

I don't think I'll be off the CPAP after I lose weight. My sleep apnea is *really* bad (130 events per hour at my sleep study) and even as a kid I snored horribly. I suspect I would have been diagnosed as a kid if there had been more awareness of it. I think my sleep apnea will get better but I doubt I'll get off the machine.

Oh my. I'm sorry to hear that. I don't see how someone can get use to being suffocated at night every night. I have the mask on so tight that the air still comes out and I end up still having a headache, so I'm just over it. I stop between 40 to 50 times in an hour. So my pressure is a 14.

Oh, I can't sleep without it anymore. I ripped it off one night when I was really congested and I only lasted twenty minutes before I woke up with a dry, sore throat from snoring. I put it back on. Once the air starts blowing I don't have any trouble. And of course, there's the fact that it *works*. I had trouble sleeping with the mask one time after I'd been using it for about a month, and I was miserable the next day.

You might try loosening some of the straps. Sometimes it can be too tight. There are also pads you can buy, or just take some soft fabric and cut it into a ring that will cover your mask and leave just enough of a hole to put your nose through. The extra padding is supposed to help with leaks.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
