HarleyNana 10 Posted November 25, 2007 Hi welcome aboard the VA site. I have to admit I'm not sure where Berryville is, but I love the name. Sounds like you and your band are doing great, I didn't have my third fill until I was about 8 months out. I have the smaller band, probably at 2.6 now. I know I'm due for a fill, but I like where I am now, able to eat a larger variety, but helps control the volume. Take care. PS OK, I'm confused, you signed Lisa, but said your name was Cathy. __________________
LovingWhatIs 0 Posted November 25, 2007 I am lisa. I was just replying to someone named Cathy on the board. Sorry for the confusion. You ride a harley? I have been riding since I was 18. (46 now). I sold my last bikes when I got married 7 years ago and got a HORSE! HAHAHAHHA... Thanks for you post - I feel so welcomed.
HarleyNana 10 Posted November 25, 2007 Duhhh me, that's what I get for reading too fast, or at least not reading well enough, LOL. I do have a Harley, but I haven't riden in two years, it doesn't come natural to me, plus it's a huge Heritage Softtail Springer, very heavy front end. I didn't start riding until I was 47, a grandma at that. Thanks for getting me straight.

HarleyNana 10 Posted November 27, 2007 I had Mamsi at the time of my surgery, when I contacted them, they said any type of weight loss surgery was NOT covered in my plan. I hope your plan does not have that exclusion. Who will be doing your surgery? Dr. Terracina did mine almost three years ago Stop in anytime and good luck on getting that approval. By the way....I love my band.

LovingWhatIs 0 Posted November 28, 2007 Hey 5grnkidz. Welcome to the board. Exciting about your beginning this journey. I just got banded sept. 11th. Still learning a lot but no regrets. It is so nice to feel that I have some support (on this board and with my appliance). I struggled silently and alone with this for so long. LOVE TO YOU. Lisa Do The Work at the Satori Center for The Work as Facilitated by Lisa Holliday Lee | Satori | Lisa Holliday Leah Let us know how we can support you. Also, the book "Loving What is" by Byron Katie helps me a lot - her work helps me deal with my stressful thoughts that always led me to eat. I used it to give up alcohol and cigarettes a couple years ago, and in combination with the band, her process, called "The Work" is so helpful and powerful, and results in a remarkable joy. And it is easy to do. I am definately a girl who needs to keep it simple.

LovingWhatIs 0 Posted November 29, 2007 Hey chickie. Just got back from another fill. My doctor is hilarious... We negotiated and I think I have a nice restriction - sticking to liquids. I told him all about this board and how helpful it is and he is going to start promoting it. You guys are awesome. I feel like I have constant buddies and am never alone. ::::sniff:::::
HarleyNana 10 Posted November 29, 2007 I know the feeling Lisa, I have a group I hang out with on the NJ Chat, very few are from Jersey, but a great bunch of ladies hang out there. Stop in there too
mamato3 1 Posted December 3, 2007 Hey everyone! I thought I would see what you guys thought.... I am starting to feel very impatient. I have had my approval from the insurance company since Oct. 31. I have done everything my doctors office has asked of me (psych eval, nutrition class). I feel like they are ignoring me! haha It has been 2 weeks since I took the nutrition class and I have not heard from anyone. I dont want to be one of those annoying patients that calls all the time, but it is making me go stir crazy. They had told me my surgery would be early January, but since I have not heard from them yet, I doubt that will happen. Would you go ahead and call again? Or just wait it out? My surgeon is Dr. Brengman at Richmond Surgical Group.
LovingWhatIs 0 Posted December 3, 2007 I would call for sure! This is a collaboration - you are on the team of "you". I called, and even said, "hey I don't want to be a pest", and they said, "Please, be a pest - we are here for that and for you." Go for it. And I don't think calling after two weeks is Impatient at all. I finished my requirements and called the next day and scheduled an appointment to come in and set up my surgery. Get her done, my friend! Your sistah in Va. Lisa
