saramelie 21 Posted April 25, 2018 Hello! I'm getting sleeved on May 14th. Starting the pre-op diet today (don't need to do it, but I want to). I'm expecting to lose at least 10-15 pounds until operation day, which will put me at a BMI around 38-39. What can be expected as far as weigh loss goes at that BMI? (per month). I would like to know your personal experience, if you started at about that BMI (I've read the guidelines, I want the real stuff!) Is it realistic to think that I could lose all my excess weigh in a year (from 225 ish to 140 ish). I plan on being really strict with my eating Thanks! 2 baribetty and clsumrall reacted to this
JitterbugPerfume 23 Posted April 29, 2018 I started out with a 43 bmi, 42 on surgery day. I'm 3 ½ weeks out and have been losing about a pound a day. My friend, who had a similar height/weight (40 bmi on surgery day) lost most of her weight in the first 6 months, then got down to 115 by the time she was a year out. However, she had some plastic surgery to help her when she was 9 months out, so some of that weight loss is probably due to the removal if excess skin. I think your goal sounds realistic, as long as you are determined to stick to your plan. Good luck!
