Losebig 508 Posted April 25, 2018 Started running today. First time I’ve really run in over 10 years. I was able to do 2 miles with mile 1 taking 10 minutes and mile 2 11 minutes. Felt pretty good about it given how long its been, carrying a lot less weight makes it much easier. Starting to train for a 5k in June and thinking of doing some long distance biking so will need to get conditioned. The high Protein diet seems to be really helping preserve muscle, last time I lost this much weight I was unable to run a mile when I hit goal (about 30 lbs from where I am now). 1 2 Healthy_life2, ProudGrammy and Mattymatt reacted to this

It always feels good when you get to re-discover what you love to do but couldn't do it due to circumstances. I know I am excited to begin riding my road bike again. It got too uncomfortable as I gained weight so I've only Ridden my more comfortable mountain bike in the last 10 years. Kind of odd when I start thinking of all the things being heavy cost me... good motivation to not let it happen again.

I would rather not think about what being overweight has cost me because it is too painful. Instead, I want to think about what opportunities losing weight will provide. 1 Losebig reacted to this

Tennis, skiing, soccer, and for the past 5 years I haven’t been able to participate because I’m too heavy and out of shape. As the weight comes off I am realizing how much I’ve missed these activities. I just started running 3 weeks ago and found a couch to 5k app that really helps. Looking forward to the summer and outdoor activities! Sleeved 3/12/18, HW 270, SW 253, CW 226, GW 160, 5’9”
